A serialised RSS web feed enables a subscriber to receive, perhaps on a daily basis, sequential episodes from within a series of episodes. The subscriber always starts at the beginning regardless when they start their subscription. Take Alex – who subscribes to a feed on the 1st of December. On the 1st he will receive content for day 1, on the 2nd of December he will receive content for day 2. By the 3rd of December he has told a friend, Brenda, about the feed. She comes along and also subscribes (using her conventional web feed reader). As she has just subscribed, she will receive content for day 1 on the 3rd of December, while Alex is now onto day 3.
